Who executes the compliance control ?
In Belgium, the compliance control visit must be executed by an approved official body. Should you want it, we can make the appointment and organize the control visit with the official expert, before and/or after the compliance works.
Is it useful to organize a compliance control visit before renovating the network ?
This is actually a good idea : the control expert will provide you with a comprehensive and detailed official document indicating the precise status of your network and each point of attention. We can use this document to help prepare the renovation works, but of course this is not compulsory.
The law only requires a control visit to take place after every transformation or power upgrade work, in order to verify whether the works have been executed correctly, and to validate your network.
How long is a compliance certificate valid ?
The certificate you receive from the official control body will indicate a date of end of validity. Usually, it should remain valid during the next 25 years. This doesn't mean that your network will cease functioning correctly after this date, it simply means that you'll need to organize a new control visit which may validate, or not, your network according to the new regulations in place.
